The questions everyone asks
answered without the sales filter
How do engagements usually start?
With a free working session — usually 60–90 minutes with a senior engineer, not a salesperson. We dig into your goals and current systems, and you leave with an honest written assessment whether or not you hire us. If we are not the right fit, we will say so and usually point you somewhere better.
Do you work fixed-price or time-and-materials?
Both, deliberately. Project work is fixed-price per milestone so you approve cost before work begins. Dedicated teams and managed services are monthly. What we avoid is the open-ended hourly engagement with no defined outcome — it misaligns incentives, and misaligned incentives are how IT projects go bad.
Who actually does the work?
The people you meet. Our engineers are senior — 5+ years of hands-on experience each — and we do not run a bait-and-switch where seniors sell and juniors deliver. Project teams are typically 2–5 people with a named tech lead you can message directly.
Who owns the code and infrastructure?
You do, from the first commit. Repositories, cloud accounts, and credentials are created in your name. If we part ways, you keep everything including documentation — our contracts have no lock-in clauses, and we are happy to have your lawyer verify that.
Can you take over a system another vendor built?
Yes — about a third of our work starts as a rescue or takeover. We begin with a paid technical audit (1–2 weeks) so you get an honest picture of what you have before committing to anything bigger. Sometimes the verdict is "this is better than you feared, keep it."
Do you work with startups or only established companies?
Both. Funded startups use our project and dedicated-team models to ship before they finish hiring; established companies tend to combine project delivery with managed services. The common thread is that we are most valuable when the system matters — revenue, compliance, or operations depend on it.
What does the 99.95% uptime SLA actually mean?
Measured monthly per managed system, excluding scheduled maintenance windows you approve in advance. If we miss it, service credits apply automatically — you do not have to ask. Our current twelve-month fleet-wide figure is published in every quarterly review.
Are you able to sign NDAs, BAAs, and DPAs?
Yes. NDAs before any technical discussion, BAAs for HIPAA-covered work, and DPAs for GDPR-scope processing. Security questionnaires and vendor-risk reviews are routine for us — send them over.
Where is your team located?
We are a small, senior, remote-first team across North America, Europe, and Asia, headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware. For US clients we guarantee at least 4 hours of overlap with your business day; managed-services coverage is 24/7 regardless.
How fast can you start?
Discovery sessions usually happen within a week of first contact. Project kickoffs depend on team availability — typically 2–4 weeks out. If you have a genuine emergency (outage, breach, vendor walked out), say so: we keep limited capacity for rescues.
Question not on the list?
Ask it directly — a senior engineer reads the contact inbox, and 'we don't know yet' is an answer we are comfortable giving.
